Company founded as YAMAJUSEISHI
1931
  • Shoei Inc. established, 100% owned by The Yasuda Bank.
    Operation of raw silk manufacturing commenced.

  • Trade name changed to Shoei Kogyo.
  • Possession and use of real estate property, securities, and debentures added to business objectives.
  • All stock of Yamato Optical Co., Ltd. purchased.
1944
  • Yamato Optical Co., Ltd. merged with Seiki Kogyo Inc. to form Precision Optical Industry Co., Ltd. (currently Canon Inc.).
1948
  • Trade name changed to The Shoei Silk Manufacturing Co., Ltd.
1949
  • The Shoei Silk Manufacturing Co., Ltd. listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
1960
  • Reorganization and streamlining of raw silk manufacturing business started.
  • Manufacture of electronic components launched.
1961
  • The Shoei Silk Manufacturing Co., Ltd. participated in the management of Iwate Hume Pipe Manufacturing Co., Ltd.

  • Real estate business, including transactions and the allotment sales of land and buildings, added to business line.
